Gearbest have scammed me and they are under investigation from HMRC.
So 3-4 months ago I ordered an ASUS Zenfone 5 which was on summer sale on Gearbest. It was extremely cheap and the reviews were mixed but I went for it anyway.
It was taking a while to arrive and then I received a call from DHL saying that Gearbest were lying about the contents of the package. I am now legally required to pay the duty and VAT on this phone, an extra £68.20 which was not advertised.
Beware anyone buying from Gearbest, they're scam artists and if you've had a positive transaction with them, it was pure luck.
